What it is
POKÉMON X KOGEI (ポケモン×工芸展) is a touring exhibition by Japan’s National Crafts Museum and The Pokémon Company. Twenty artists made Pokémon in ceramics, lacquer, metal, glass, wood and textiles. It opened in Kanazawa in 2023 and has toured Japan since, with stops in Los Angeles and Taipei.

What you could get at each stop
- Tokyo, Azabudai Hills. Holographic stamp rally stickers in two rounds: Jolteon, Venusaur or Shaymin for the first 10,000 (1 to 11 Nov 2024), then Mewtwo, Litwick or Banette for the first 30,000 (6 Jan to 2 Feb 2025). Special tickets came with a silver or gold cup, a tote bag and postcards. There were also A2 posters by weekday lottery, a lucky envelope with a 5 yen coin for the first 1,500 visitors, and a place mat at the café.
- Nagoya, Matsuzakaya. A weekday entry sticker (Mewtwo, Venusaur or Shaymin, first 10,000) and a stamp rally sticker in three designs. Aoyagi Sohonke’s uiro sweets came in a special box with a sticker.
- Hachinohe. Two weekday entry stickers for the first 20,000 visitors, and a sticker for the first 10,000 holders of the city’s one-day bus pass.
- Nagasaki. A mini flag (the Mamehata) with the Premium Ticket, and a Pikachu sticker for visitors on 2 to 5 Dec 2025, when the show passed 40,000 visitors.
- Sapporo, Hokkaido. Weekday entry stickers in four designs for the first 20,000 visitors.
- Hiroshima. A tenugui towel with tickets bought at Lawson, limited to 500, and a Pikachu stamp rally sticker.
- Tagajo, Tohoku. A weekday entry sticker has been announced.
The sticker giveaways documented in this archive begin with Tokyo. At each stop in Japan the Kimono Pikachu plush (¥2,640) was sold at the venue or a nearby Pokémon Center, and each museum shop added new goods such as notebooks, pins, mints and pendants.
Some artists also sold handmade pieces by online lottery, including Takuro Kuwata’s Pikachu cups and Sadamasa Imai’s Bulbasaur.
