Behind the Temple

ORIGIN

Hidden Temple Collectibles is an independent reference archive of Japanese Pokémon collectibles from 1996 to today. It catalogues more than 30,000 non-card items across more than 600 set checklists, including Amada and Ensky sticker sets, Daiichi Pan Deco Chara bread seals (220 numbered waves), Topsun and Toppu cards and seal gum, Bandai Carddass and Sealdass, Meiji, Nissui and Tohato snack seals, karuta, Kakumen menko, and arcade pieces such as Battrio, Ga-Ole and Mezastar. It also indexes more than 40,000 Trading Card Game checklist entries. Each checklist lists the printed number and the Japanese name with an English name, and notes which rows are still unconfirmed. Collectors add photos of the front and back of each item. Collectors use it to identify loose stickers, check whether a set is complete, and tell print runs apart.

The Mission

Hidden Temple is an archive of the obscure: vintage stickers, oddball promos, foreign exclusives, toys, cards, and relics that slip past the big guides.

Every page is built for collectors who want the weird corners of Pokémon history to be findable, photographed, and preserved.

The Tools

The Lens helps contributors crop collectible photos without manual editing. The Anvil prints scan-ready QR labels tied directly to archive entries.

These tools are built from real collecting work first, then shared as they become sturdy enough for the community.

The People

It started with a fold-out table, an old laptop, and a date night ripping cards. Then the strange stuff kept pulling us deeper.

The Temple is still personal: shelves, trades, scans, late-night research, and a community helping turn scattered pieces into a real archive.

Collaborators & Contributors

Hidden Temple is small, but the circle around it is not. These collectors have shared references, photos, leads, and time before there was anything public to show for it.
