Pokémon Gold & Silver Johto Karuta Checklist (2000)

Showa Note’s early Johto “3 Ways to Play” box holds 45 picture cards and 45 reading cards, and prints three game names on the box: かるた, ポケモンあつまるかな and かさねてポケモン. Pikachu, Marill, Slowking, Meowth and Togepi are on the box.

Correction, 2026-10-23: the は and る rows named the wrong Pokémon; the cards show Vileplume and Lugia.

One complete spread of the exact box now establishes the complete kana map without borrowing cards from the original Kanto deck or a magazine supplement. The visible kana and printed characters establish this complete map.

The displayed order keeps each row’s original stable key, because approved card photos, pending submissions and contributor credit already use them. Every kana appears once, and all 90 picture and reading photo wells remain connected.
