ADV Part 9

The moment Amada Printing Co. handed the Pokémon sticker line to its subsidiary Ensky. For nine years collectors had pulled packs stamped with the AMADA mark; in 2005 that mark vanished and the green-foil enSky logo took its place. The factory was the same. The artists were the same. The ADV Retsuden numbering continued without resetting. But the name on the wrapper changed forever, making this the first sticker pack in the entire Pokémon Amada lineage to ship under the Ensky banner — a quiet handover that almost no one outside Japan noticed at the time.

Released alongside Pokémon Movie 8, “Lucario and the Mystery of Mew” (July 2005). Lucario and Mime Jr. — both making their feature-film debuts — share the pack front with Pikachu. For a generation of Japanese collectors, this was the first sticker pack to put Lucario on the packaging, predating any TCG card appearance in many sub-formats. The choice of cover art is no accident: this set was meant to ride the movie's release into every convenience store and toy shop in the country.

Ensky did not simply continue Amada's two-tier foil system — they expanded it. The back of the wrapper documents three distinct tiers: 75 normal stickers, 15 metallic stickers, and 5 laser stickers, for a complete set of 95. The laser tier is new, marketed as the rarest pull (“Lucky pack-openers get a laser sticker”), and it set the template every Ensky sticker release that followed would build on. This is the pack where the modern Ensky foil chase mechanic begins.

ADV Part 9 is a late Advanced Generation Ensky release with a 95-sticker checklist: 75 normal stickers, 15 metallic stickers, and 5 laser stickers. Front and back upload slots are open for each entry.
