GBA Card Collection 3 - Ruby and Sapphire

The third Hoenn-era Ruby and Sapphire set. Fifty five designs are now documented and every row here is a name only. Nothing in this part has been read carrying a number. The fronts print a romaji name band and no number, no Part III back has ever been photographed, and a number is never written onto a row from a dex. This part now has a printed total, and the document that carries it is the gashapon leaflet packed with its boxes. That leaflet was photographed for the first time on 2026-09-12, in one frame that holds the Part II leaflet beside it, and under the heading GBA CARD COLLECTION PART III it prints four body colours, 168 card designs and four box types. It is the first Part III packaging artefact this archive has recorded at all. The count line was magnified forty times before the figure was written down, the leaflet's thirteen digit article number 4947122040254 validates on its own check digit, which rules out a single digit misread anywhere in the first twelve, and the maker printed on it is Kyodo Co., Ltd. of Sumida-ku, Tokyo, the same maker named on the Diamond and Pearl daishi in this family. Two limits come with the figure and are stated rather than smoothed over. It counts designs and not characters, because the Part II leaflet prints its own figure as 140 designs covering 136 characters, so 168 designs does not mean 168 species. And it is not a numbering range, because no Part III front prints a number at all, so no row here is ever filled from a run of 1 to 168. Whether the prism finish duplicates those designs or is counted inside them is not stated on this leaflet, unlike the Diamond and Pearl daishi which says so outright, so this page claims neither. What separates this part from the second is the ink in that name band rather than the lettering, because every front in this family prints its name in one heavy block capital letterform in a band that runs down the right edge. A Part III front prints the name in white inside a thick black outline and a Part II front prints it in a colour with no outline, and neither treatment changes with the background or with the finish. A name printed along the bottom edge instead belongs to a different product and is never counted here. A name printed down the right edge does not on its own make a card a member of this family either, because one prism product photographed in the same lot as these leaflets prints thin dark names vertically on some of its cards and horizontally on others in a single sheet, so the letterform decides first and the orientation only ever excludes. That test is frame dependent, and in one direction only. A raking angle can wash a dark coloured band toward white and manufacture an outline the card does not print, which turns a Part II front into an apparent Part III front and never the reverse, so a white outlined reading taken only at a raking angle is held back rather than published. Twenty two of the rows here come from one lot of ninety one fronts read card by card, each published at the highest confidence tier the read that recorded it carried, and each with the frame geometry it was read on recorded beside it. Thirty one more were added on 2026-09-12 from a second lot of thirty two fronts laid out flat and read at six times magnification or higher, and that lot carries its own disproof of the glare artefact, because a card in the same frame still renders a pale coloured band with no outline at fourteen times, which a frame washing colours toward white could not do. Three of those thirty one are identities an earlier pass could read only at a raking angle or with the band running out of the frame, now resolved on new specimens with the whole band in frame. Three more are still held rather than published, Moltres, Sealeo and Snorlax, and each of them needs one flat on photograph of its own front. The prism Squirtle this set already carried is confirmed for a third time in the ninety one front lot, on its flat frame, and five of these rows are confirmed a second time in the new lot. One recorded reading was corrected on 2026-09-12. The Lickitung band was recorded as BEROLINGA by the pass that added the row, which noted at the time that the third syllable had not been separately magnified. At twenty two times on a flat frame the band prints BERORINGA. No row here carries a romaji name, so the published name Lickitung is unaffected, and the correction closes the caveat that pass raised against itself. Subjects overlap the parts, so nothing here is ever assigned by species. Eight subjects listed here are listed in Part II as well, on different cards, and one evolutionary line is split between the parts, with Rhyhorn here and Rhydon in Part II read in the same lot on the same pass. No physical Part III box has been photographed yet, and the archive zero behind that is unchanged, because a full sold archive sweep from June 2015 to September 2026 returns no listing that names this part, four further pagination stems return none, and the single box in the ninety one front lot prints the numeral II on its own foot band. What the leaflet changes is that the box has stopped being hypothetical, because the leaflet pictures one, yellow and green with Pikachu artwork, and states there are four box types. The leaflet also carries a toy safety mark reading ST 04, which by the issuing association's own definition reads as a 2004 inspection year against the 2003 in this set's key, and the Part II leaflet carries the same mark, so that is recorded as an open question and neither set is renamed on a date read alone.
