GBA DP Collection - Diamond and Pearl

2006 / Game Boy Advance
Set Notes

A Sinnoh-era Diamond and Pearl collection from the final known GB Pocket Card period. This page is Part 1 of that collection. On 2026-09-12 the six rows whose source lot photographs a PART-2 card holder in frame moved to their own page, GBA DP Collection 2, because the 56 printed here is Part 1's own figure and pairing it with rows sourced from Part 2 stated something no document supports. Nothing was wrong about any of those cards. What was wrong was counting them against this denominator, and two parts of one line are separate printings that are never merged. One card back is read at full resolution and prints its number in the Sinnoh dex as No.043 Psyduck, which is recorded exactly as printed and is not the National dex number 054. The front that pairs with that back has now been read as well, and it prints the romaji name KODUCK repeatedly across its own artwork and no number anywhere. The located source for this product has been read out to the last file and holds exactly one regular design and one back, both of them Psyduck, so the two rows this archive carried for that subject are the two faces of one card type and are now one row. That is why the figure moved down from 3 to 2. The product daishi packed in the capsule has now been photographed and read on three separate specimens, and it settles three things at once. It prints the full product name, DIAMOND & PEARL CARD COLLECTION PART 1, the Sinnoh dex edition. It prints the counts: 56 card types, a prism parallel covering those same 56 subjects rather than adding any of its own, and 3 card holder types, with one capsule holding ten cards including two prisms and a holder. And it names the maker in full for the first time on any product in this family, Kyodo Co., Ltd. of Sumida-ku, Tokyo. So the 56 is a manufacturer printed total, and a finish aware checklist is 56 subjects in two finishes rather than 112 subjects. One photograph lays the whole set out in six rows of ten, ten, ten, ten, ten and six, which is 56 physical cards in one frame against the daishi's printed 56, so the total now has an independent physical confirmation. That photograph is 600 pixels wide and yields no identity, and none was taken from it. Two rows were added on 2026-09-12 with a Part 1 artefact in the same frame. Lopunny at Sinnoh dex No.068 is read off a back photographed beside the Dialga card holder whose face prints DIAMOND & PEARL CARD COLLECTION PART-1, in a sealed unused capsule lot, so the holder and the card are one capsule's contents. Palkia at Sinnoh dex No.150 is read off the Part 1 daishi itself, where the rules panel reproduces a complete card back at large size as its worked example, which is manufacturer paper rather than a marketplace photograph and is a stronger source than a loose card, not a weaker one. A third row, Machop at Sinnoh dex No.040, comes from a mixed collector accumulation with no holder and no daishi in frame, so its identity is read off its own printed back and its part is attributed by nothing. That is said here rather than left for a reader to assume, because of what this page just corrected. Of the five rows now on this page, two carry a Part 1 artefact in the same frame and three do not. Psyduck, Infernape and Machop are each published on their own printed evidence with the part unattributed, and they stay on this page because it is the page they were published on, which is not the same thing as a Part 1 proof. The Infernape row is the one to watch, because its only recorded basis here is the word Prism and the same species is printed as a Part 2 card holder artwork, so that row has never been tested against the holder and should be. The Empoleon row was tested against exactly that risk and passed as a card rather than a holder before it moved to the Part 2 page. Two things are recorded rather than resolved. The daishi carries a toy safety mark reading ST 07 and a lot code reading 0702, which points at early 2007 rather than 2006, so the year stated here is an open question and this set is not renamed on a date read alone. And both parts print the Sinnoh dex number on the back, so a Sinnoh dex band never separates one part from the other, and only a Part badged holder or daishi in the same frame ever does.

Only source-verified entries are named. Additional designs can be submitted using Add Extra Card; each keeps its own front and back photo keys.
